Chess in the computer age

This page, Blizzard Chess, very accurately demonstrates what would happen to chess if it were owned by a video game company.

For non-gamers, it is important to know that many video game companies release program changes called patches. While some patches are used to correct program errors, often they are use to change the game to make it more "balanced."
